The question that must be asked is: Did they find it?

According to some researchers, they did. Some theorists believe that selected field operatives and contract agents were programmed by the CIA to accomplish certain dangerous, possibly, suicidal, objectives. The bizarre behavior of Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassination attempt on President Gerald Ford by Charles Manson family member Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, the attempt on President Ronald Reagan by John Hinckley, the Jonestown, Guyana, mass suicide, and even David Koresh's control over his flock at Mount Carmel have been blamed on CIA mind control. Whether there is any substance to any of these claims is unknown. What is known, however, is the ability to control people by the combined use of drugs and psychological persuasion. An example of just this is the Sharon Tate and the LaBianca murders conducted by Charles Manson's "family."

Manson, a dedicated fan of the Beatles and amateur Acid Rock musician, saw hidden meanings in what many say are concealed messages in music. One example is a Lennon song, wherein the title is said to be a coded reference to the drug - Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Lennon later wrote: "We must always remember to thank the CIA and the army for LSD. That's what the people forget--- They invented LSD to control people and what they did give us was freedom." Sixties acid guru Timothy Leary added: "The LSD movement was started by the CIA. I wouldn't be here without the foresight of the CIA scientists." And finally, Allen Ginsberg questioned: "Am I the product of one of the CIA's lamentable, ill advised, or triumphantly successful experiments in mind control? [Has the CIA] by conscious plan or inadvertent Pandora's Box, let loose the whole LSD fad on him U.S. and the world?" By the evidence that is experimentees and veterans groups, it appears that is exactly what happened.
