TGS Publishing

TGS has reprinted How's first edition of 1862 and his third edition of 1881. The 1881 Edition is more accurate and further edited. However, as with most subsequent editions of any book, the first edition captures the author's passion for his topic, many times lost in further editing.

Havelock Ellis, of the great Freethinkers of the Age of Enlightenment, wrote down his thoughts, impressions of things he saw or was thinking about day to day for several years. These were captured for posterity in these 2 series. 1912 and 1914 series in one volume.

Mark Twain was not a fan of Christianity, perhaps an atheist, probably agnostic. He wrote three complete books on Joan of Arc that TGS has combined into one volume to make it more affordable. Mark Twain also wrote a children's version of the book, which TGS also republishes.

Written in 1922, the author predicted the supply and costs of gas and other petroleum products was not to be infinite. He advocated and taught that we should be using alcohol to preserve and have substitutes available. Great reference work for those considering making their own alcohol based fuels.

Many years ago I heard of the existence of this manuscript from a celebrated occultist, since dead; and more recently my attention was again called to it by my personal friend, the well-known French author, lecturer, and poet, Jules Bois, whose attention has been for some time turned to occult subjects. My first-mentioned informant told me that it was known both to Bulwer Lytton and Eliphas Levi, that the former had based part of his description of the sage Rosicrucian Mejnour on that of Abra-Melin, while the account of the so-called observatory of Sir Philip Derval in the Strange Story was to an extent copied from and suggested by that of the magical oratory and terrace, given in the eleventh chapter of the second book of this present work.

From the oldest records, man's history was preserved in quite complete detail by ancient civilizations in the Indus valley. Their secrets parallel many of the same secrets held by the Jewish Kaballa and other mystical teachings. Perhaps if more would look behind the veil of our past, we'd find the secret to our future.
