William Davis was an engineer with a water filter company for many years. From his expertise and research, he discovered that the commercially sold water filters DO NOT clean most of the contaminants from your drinking water and most being sold under the concept of 'survival' gear were a rip-off. A filter that cannot clean river water is a waste of money!
TGS Survival Books Reprint: This small booklet contains advice for farming, that will benefit the home gardener, too. It's easy to say fertilize or rotate the crops, but few urbanites really know what this means or how to do it.
TGS Survival Books Reprint: It is always possible that society will face a full blown depression. Having books like this in your library may offer the techniques and knowledge to add with your skills for survival. This is a trade that may well be usable or even saleable even during a recession.
MY object in placing this handbook before the reader is to provide him with a simple and straightforward explanation of how and why a gas engine, or an oil engine, works. The main features and peculiarities in the construction of these engines are described, while the methods and precautions necessary to arrive at desirable results are detailed as fully as the limited space permits.
Any attempt at a scientific explanation of the phenomenon of "crystal seering," to use an irregular but comprehensive term, would perhaps fall short of completeness, and certainly would depend largely upon the exercise of what Professor Huxley was wont to call "the scientific imagination."
The first edition of this treatise met with encouragement enough to flatter me that I had left no room to improve it: but, encouraged by the satisfaction my friends was pleased to express of its utility to the public, I have been induced to make every improvement I could collect.
This history of woodworking hand tools from the 17th to the 20th century is one of a very gradual evolution of tools through generations of craftsmen. As a result, the sources of changes in design are almost impossible to ascertain. Published sources, moreover, have been concerned primarily with the object shaped by the tool rather than the tool itself. The resulting scarcity of information is somewhat compensated for by collections in museums and restorations.
The presence of flies is an indication of uncleanliness, insanitary conditions, and improper disposal of substances in which they breed. They are not only annoying; they are actually dangerous to health, because they may carry disease germs to exposed foods.
The more one studies about the President of the USA, Thomas Jefferson, the more you find he was indeed a great man with many talent and interests. Here Mr. Jefferson authors a teaching text for learning the Anglo Saxon language in its English context.
A study into what the author's research proved to be the best whiskey.
A TGS survival book reprint. Even if we suffer a total collapse of the economic system, there is no reason to do without some of the finer tastes in culinary delight that is derived from herbs. You can grow them, harvest them, prepare them, and serve them... without the 'boxes' from a supermarket.
I have received a large amount of correspondence concerning this small work, and many reviews of it--some of them nearly as long as the book itself--have been printed. But scarcely any of the comment has been adverse.
Great collection of mixed drink recipes that brought in the 20th century and probably carried us into the Roaring Twenties.
An unusual twist in looking on the roles of sex and sexual relations between man and woman.
Hemp hurds are used to a limited extent for barnyard litter and stable bedding, as a substitute for sawdust in packing ice, and, in rare instances, for fuel. They are not regarded as having a commercial value for any of these uses, though they are doubtless worth at least $1 per ton on the farm when used for stable bedding. They are a waste product, without value for other purposes which might compete with their use for paper stock.
