A careful perusal of this first English translation of the primitive text of "Job," "Koheleth," and the "Sayings of Agur" will, I doubt not, satisfy the most orthodox reader that I am fully warranted in characterising their authors as Sceptics. The epithet, I confess, may prove distasteful to many, but the truth, I trust, will be welcome to all.

The brief excursus on the word "Hell" contained in this volume, aims to treat the subject in a popular style, and at the same time to present all the important facts, so fully and comprehensively that any reader can obtain in a few pages a birds-eye-view of "The Bible Hell."

The origin of evil is clearly and concisely explained. It substantiates the truths of Christianity, Christian Science and all other religions and philosophies. It also shows how man evolves from the animal and becomes not man, child of God, until endowed with a soul.

TGS Publishing reprints this facsimile edition in two volumes, which includes the 220+ page digest-index, added years later to Albert Pike's manuscript. TGS makes no apology for the manuscript pages having stray dots, occasional lines, or varying quality. These were scanned pages from a very old book printed on India paper (tissue thin).
