Lost Civilizations

This is probably one of the most intricate and exhaustive histories written of Rome, particularly the B.C. years of Rome. The author, a Roman senator, wrote this history around 216 A.D. Interestingly, he like Josephus, mentions nothing of a Jesus or a threat of the Christians against Rome. However, there is an interesting expansion of history of the Jewish revolt against Rome, including Jewish cannibalism, from the Roman point of view.

Twenty-even ten-years ago the phenomena which Prof. Flournoy here describes in detail, and of which he offers a keen, skilful, psychological analysis, would have met with the sneers of popular science and the contempt of obscurantist orthodoxy; the book would have found few readers.

This is, I believe, the first serious attempt to link together many lives of many persons in consecutive order, and they throw much light on the workings of Karma and the Law of Reincarnation.
