This strange book goes in and out of print with nearly every generation. While appearing to be a book of long forgotten secrets and magic by its title, it is really a catalog of old remedies used for ailments throughout the centuries. It is not known how old the writing is or how old the remedies included are. It is even disputed that Albertus Magnus (aka Saint Albert the Great) of the 13th century is truly the author. This version is from an old book printed in the United States under the title Egyptian Secrets.
The American Civil War continues to be a mystery among citizens of the North and the South. Most important facts were hidden from the American Public for well over a hundred years by the U.S. Government. The Reconstruction Era was one of the most damning and insulting periods of history in the South. Read accounts of this period from someone who was there and experienced it.
Documented evidence that the Catholic church knew about the American continents, long before Columbus.
It is, of course, no easy task to infuse a spirit of originality into matter which has already achieved such a measure of celebrity as have these wild and wondrous tales of Rhineland. But it is hoped that the treatment to which these stories have been subjected is not without a novelty of its own. One circumstance may be alluded to as characteristic of the manner of their treatment in this work. In most English books on Rhine legend the tales themselves are presented in a form so brief, succinct, and uninspiring as to rob them entirely of that mysterious glamour lacking which they become mere material by which to add to and illustrate the guide-book.
The first created thing was light. Then life came, then death. In between was fear. But not love. Love was absent. In Eden there was none. Adam and Eve emerged there adult. The phases of the delicate fever which others in paradise since have experienced, left them unaffected. Instead of the reluctances and attractions, the hesitancies and aspirations, the preliminary and common conflagrations which are the beginnings, as they are also the sacraments, of love, abruptly they were one. They were married before they were mated.
A look at historic ghosts that have raised public attention to these mysteries. Are they explainable by science? or just spiritual apparitions? or both?
With the Da Vinci Code movie being so popular, its time for people to discover the true history of this mysterious and elusive society.... This is a facsimile of an 1840 edition of this rare book.
CLOSE to the verge of the immense desert which stretches its arid wastes across the whole breadth of the continent to the shore of the Western Ocean, just at the apex of the famous delta which marks the meeting point of Upper and Lower Egypt, at the very spot where the busy life of the earliest civilization on record was bordered by the vast and barren solitude, stands the most majestic and most mysterious monument ever erected by the hand of man. Of all the other structures which made the marvels of the ancient world, scarcely a vestige is left.
Communists in government during World War II formulated major policies which the Truman administration followed; but when the known communists were gone, the policies continued, under Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson. The unseen they who took control of government during World War II still control it. Their tentacles of power are wrapped around levers of political control in Washington; reach into schools, big unions, colleges, churches, civic organizations; dominate communications; have a grip on the prestige and money of big corporations.
Biography of one of the first writers of the 19th century that promoted the freedom of sex, and releasing people from a puritanical, restricted view of the purpose and meaning of sex.
